Nick is a product of an old line Kuykendall bitch Kate (Joe X Salt) and sired by Mirk ISDS 192945. Nick, a half brother to Jim shows many of the same working characteristics. Much like his sire Mirk, Nick walks straight on the stock and relishes the challenge ahead. He has no back up or quit when there is a job at hand. A bit easier to handle than Jim , he is a wonderful combination of power and finesse.
Nick is a large, well made dog. If these dogs are going to hold up to years of grueling work they have to have a good conformation. Extremely correct on feet and legs; a wide, deep chest for lung capacity and stamina make for a dog to do just that. He finished 5th in the nation in conformation for Border Collies in 1996 winning a group placement at his first show. At eleven years old Nick still looks like a young dog!
